Welcome to AnandaSoma.
Everything you encounter at AnandaSoma is meant to bring you closer to yourSelf. To recognize and tap into the well of wisdom that’s always within you.
Presence is the purpose of the process…
For the weary, the overworked, the ‘I’ve tried it all’ person…welcome to a process that doesn’t ask more of you, but rather, asks you to let go, release, soften, and see the truth that’s always been with you, that’s just waiting to be heard…welcome to a place that shows you how to truly see, love, and know yourself…and a reminder that you are already whole and complete.
Ananda is a Sanskrit word meaning bliss or deep inner joy. Soma refers to the nourishing essence of life—the vitality, resilience, and radiance that arise when we live in harmony with ourselves and the natural world. Together, they embody the intention of this practice: to help you return to the innate wisdom and wholeness that has always lived within you.
Ayurveda, India's traditional system of medicine and sister science to yoga, has been practiced for more than 5,000 years. Rooted in the understanding that we are each a unique expression of the five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space—it offers a deeply individualized approach to health. Rather than asking, “What disease do you have?” Ayurveda asks, “Who are you?” It recognizes that lasting well-being comes from understanding your unique constitution, restoring balance through daily rhythms, nourishment, movement, and awareness, and honoring the profound connection between body, mind, spirit, and consciousness.
But what does that actually look like in your everyday life?
Perhaps you’ve noticed that your digestion isn’t quite as comfortable or consistent as it used to be. Maybe your sleep could be better, your energy feels a little less steady, or you’re finding it harder to slow down and truly rest. You may be navigating stress, changing hormones, a busy season of life, or simply feeling a little disconnected from what your body needs. Maybe you’re doing many of the “right” things, but still don’t feel quite as balanced, energized, or at home in yourself as you’d like.
These experiences are often treated as separate problems, each with its own quick fix. Ayurveda looks at the larger picture.
Together, we look at your constitution, your current patterns, your digestion, sleep, energy, stress, relationships, environment, daily routines, and the ways you nourish and move your body. We look for the patterns underneath the symptoms and identify where your life may be asking more of your system than it can sustainably give. From there, we work with practical, individualized changes—through food, daily rhythms, movement, breath, rest, sensory practices, and other Ayurvedic and therapeutic tools—to gently restore balance.
At AnandaSoma, these timeless teachings are woven together with yoga therapy, somatic awareness, and compassionate inquiry. The intention is not to give you another rigid wellness routine to follow, but to help you understand your own patterns and develop a more trusting, responsive relationship with your body.
There is wisdom in the body, but in a culture that often teaches us to override it, that wisdom can become difficult to hear. My role is not to tell you what your body should be doing, but to offer the framework, tools, and support to help you listen more closely—and make choices that are actually sustainable for your life.
This process begins with a simple invitation: to come home to yourself.
Generous Listening
We begin with a thorough and loving investigation of everything that makes you, you. Listening deeply to what has happened, what’s happening now, and what you wish to have happen. Along the journey, we continuously come back to listening to the body, to the spirit of wisdom, the Soma, inside, to direct every step and empower the process.
Pillars of the practice…
Honest Vulnerability
If you’re looking for a simple Dosha related grocery list or a prescribed list of postures and practices, this isn’t the place for that. At AnandaSoma we get to the core of what’s actually happening… the unconscious patterns are running the show… what’s been trying to get your attention that you haven’t been ready to listen to… what decisions need to be made to really make a difference in your life and health. This is work for the brave, honest, and ready heart.
Sincere Readiness
The invitation is to Trust the Process. This is not a practice that we can contrive and control to ‘get something out of it’ or have it go exactly the way you imagined. Come to this with an open heart and mind. Give the medicine of this type of wisdom (Soma) time to steep into the deepest layers of your heart and Do the Work. All you have to do is allow and trust. If you’re ready, book a consultation and let’s get started!
